Fishing Report

March is one of the very best months for big fish.. We are catching lots of sailfish and marlin. The stripped marlin are here as well. The sails and marlin are here and will just get better as water temp is ( about 78 drg. now ) along with huge schools of sardines show up in and outside of the bay. The fish are moving in closer. it will be wide open here for all big game fish and small game on the shorter trips.. As of now we are catching sails, snapper, roosterfish,mahi-mahi and some of black/blue marlin. There are lots of yellowtail around 20-30 lbs. . On some days they have been schooling offshore at some of our better spots for fishing. The marlin have been biting great up north about 10 miles outside of the bay and the Corbetena.  There were also a few Wahoo and yellowtail caught using high speed lures around the Corbetena. The best bet now is sailfish, mahi-mahi, snapper, yellowtail, marlin and roosterfish. ( just outside the bay ) The best rig is live goggle-eye trolled for sails, mahi-mahi, roosterfish, lures of any color for mahi-mahi and live Bonita for marlin. Most all marlin have been caught using live bait or rigged baits up around Corbetena and the Banco. If ya want to catch a big fish Vallarta is the place to be !
